V prvem delu naloge smo pregledali in analizirali teoretična izhodišča raziskave. Osredotočili smo se na motivacijo in različne teorije motivacije.Ker je delovna uspešnost kompleksen koncept, smo ga za namene raziskave proučevali z vidika uspešnosti temeljnega dela, uspešnosti inovativnega dela in prosocialnega obnašanja. Poleg navedenega koncepta in dejavnikov so nas seveda zanimala tudi teoretična izhodišča finančnega in nefinančnega nagrajevanja. V empiričnem delu naloge smo proučili vpliv finančnega in nefinančnega nagrajevanja na posamezne dejavnike delovne uspešnosti (uspešnost temeljnega dela, uspešnost inovativnega dela, prosocialno obnašanje).

Title:Analysis of the Effects of Financial and Non-financial Rewards on Job Performance in Economic Sector in Slovenia in Times of Crisis
Abstract:The period of the economic crisis in the world and in Slovenia has once again brought forward the issue of employee motivation, i.e. the question regarding the ways in which companies can motivate their employees despite having limited financial resources. To explore this topic, this master's thesis investigates the interrelatedness of employee motivation, financial and non-financial rewards and job performance. In the first part of the thesis, we define and analyse the theoretical foundations for our research. Here, we focus on motivation and different motivation theories. Further, we address job performance and its various aspects. Since job performance is a complex concept consisting of many factors which significantly affect the efficiency of the organization, we explore it in our research from three aspects, i.e. standard job performance, innovative job performance, and prosocial behaviour. We examine the theoretical foundations of financial and non-financial rewards as well. In the empirical part of the study, we focus on the relationship between both financial and non-financial rewards and the three aspects of job performance under investigation (i.e. standard job performance, innovative job performance, prosocial behaviour). Our aim was to determine whether the company can adequately replace financial rewards by non-financial rewards and achieve the same effect on the motivation and performance of employees. The empirical data for our research were obtained by an online survey of employees in Slovenian companies from the economic sector. The results of the statistical analysis show that financial rewards have an impact on standard job performance and innovative job performance, while non-financial rewards affect all three aspects of job performance.
