Title:VOCABULARY FOR THE HOUSE, BODY AND FAMILY IN SELECTED DIALECT OF THE PREKMURJE REGION
Abstract:The master's degree thesis titled »Besedje za kmečko hišo, telo in družino v izbranih prekmurskih govorih« describes a dialect form of known vocabulary on the basis of questions for SLA out of three chosen research points in the dialect of the region Prekmurje. The first part consists of geographical outline and presentation of individual places where we gathered the dialect words through informants. Then the presentation of the dialect of the region Prekmurje with its development and basic characteristics follows. Empirical part, which is the main part, includes the analysis of words gathered with the help of informants in places Lipovci, Vaneča and Bogojina. The dialect of the village Lipovci is placed in subdialect of “Dolinsko”, the speech in the village Vaneča is placed in the dialect of “Goričko” , and the dialect they speak in Bogojina is placed in the subdialect of “Ravensko”; all parts of the region Prekmurje. The gathered material has a logical order and is written with phonetic symbols as well as supported with technical literature also thoroughly definable and explained. There were many different morphological and phonetical words declared that are more or less of Slavic origin which coincides with the very development of Slovene language. The largest number of loan words is Germanic origin, which is quite logical since the dialect is spoken in the land that is within the striking distance of Austrian border. The main purpose was completed because we have shown that dialect of the region Prekmurje is divided in numerous speeches that differ although they are not so distant from each other. The thesis is a proof of diversity of words that can emerge within one dialect and thus contributes to the rich cultural heritage.
Keywords:dialect, origin of the words, Lipovci, Vaneča, Bogjina.
