Abstract:Zagotavljanje ustreznega delovnega okolja je predmet urejanja mnogih mednarodnih pogodb in konvencij. Opisani bosta predvsem dve tovrstni organizaciji, in sicer OZN in MOD. Pod drobnogled bomo vzeli organizacijo, ki stremi k izboljševanju delovnih pogojev in skupnosti z razvojem ter implementacijo družbeno odgovornih standardov, t.j. Social Accountability International (SAI).

Abstract:Insuring an adequate working environment is a subject of many international contracts and conventions. Many international organizations are working on improving them, for example Organization of United Nations and International Labour Organization. From their work emerged many documents that each signatory country is obliged to follow and in their frame adopt laws compliant with their provisions. On the base of these provisions, movements, initiatives and organizations were established. They are taking care of implementation of these requirements in the companies and organizations that employ work force because they are aware that adequacy of the working conditions cannot and should not be just in the hands of an individual country. The key element is an active engagement of the companies. In the thesis, we will discuss corporal social responsibility and its performance. In the first part, we will define the meaning of corporal social responsibility, its origin and its basis. Further on we will describe international organizations that are key factors in laying foundations for regulating ethical relations between workers, employers and the local community in which the company is operating. Two of the kind organizations will be described, UN and ILO. We will look into the organization that strives to improvement of working conditions and the working community with development and implementation of the standards of social responsibility. With the implementation of these standards, the interested company is certified as an adequate company. This certificate viii plays an important role in increasing companies’ profits. More and more clients/buyers are interested in products or services based on ethical adequacy of the company and its social responsibility. With this certificate the company ensures that it is taken care of this aspect of its operating In the core of the thesis we will describe in detail all the demands of the standard: the resolution of child and forced labour, prohibition of discrimination, ensuring freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, ensuring the right to healthy and safe working environment, adequate regulation of disciplinary actions, remuneration and working time and nevertheless establishing a suitable management system. In this scope we will look into the implementation of the described standards in a company in Republic of Slovenia and see if its business complies with the demands of SA 8000 and where we can find the differences between legislation of the Republic of Slovenia and the demands of SA 8000.
