Abstract:V diplomski nalogi sem se ukvarjala s prikazom kreolizma v izbranih literarnih delih, in sicer v romanu Doña Barbara, v romanu Don Segundo Sombra in v romanu Vrtinec. V nadaljevanju sledi motivno-tematska analiza izbranih romanov. Značilni motivi so: motiv narave, motiv ljudskih pripovedi in motiv običajev.

Title:FEATURES OF CREOLISM IN THE SELECTED LATIN AMERICAN NOVELS
Abstract:The graduation thesis deals with creolism in selected literary works, namely in the novels Doña Barbara, Don Segundo Sombra and The Vortex. Creolism is a very well known literary movement in Latin-American literature. Creolism deals with the relationship between people and nature, the relationship between good and evil, but not (necessarily) on the basis of the description of nature − which was characteristic for romanticism. Creolism includes descriptions of the authentic nature, local people and customs which are typical of the culture described in the novel. In Slovenia creolism is not very well known, its typical novels are almost unknown. The graduation thesis briefly presents the history of Latin-American literature and the individual chapters present the literatures to which the chosen novels belong – the Venezuelan, Colombian and Argentinean. A motif-thematic analysis of the chosen novels follows. The characteristic motifs are: the motif of nature, the motif of folk narratives and the motif of customs. With the comparison of the motifs I found out that motif-wise the novels are very similar, but they differ according to their description. In all the selected works the motif of nature is the most distinctly present and thoroughly described. All the novels include the motifs of customs and folk narratives. The novel Don Segundo Sombra stands out with regard to two characteristics – the motif of folk narrative is the most modestly described, while the motif of customs is the most distinctly present.
