Učna uspešnost posameznika določa in omogoča višjo izobrazbo, boljši socialni položaj in večje zaposlitvene možnosti.

Title:Reading literacy of the Roma students in their mother tongue and Slovenian literary language
Abstract:Reading is an activity that children are mostly looking forward to. Well acquired reading technique is needed for reading comprehension. Literacy is a key factor in academic achievement. Educational success defines and enables higher education, better social status and greater employment opportunities. This group includes the Roma, most of them are coming from less privileged backgrounds, unemployment in families is higher, and their success depends on quality of work in school. In this thesis, we examined literacy of the Roma students in their native language, which is taught from birth onwards and is the language of communication at home, and learning language, Slovenian. Reading literacy study was conducted on a sample of Roma pupils that attended the third grade of elementary school in Prekmurje in the school year 2014/2015.
