Abstract:Sodobni mediji, še posebej elektronski mediji, kot so računalnik, telefon, tablični računalnik idr., z možnostjo zapisa in velike količine shranjevanja podatkov omogočajo razmah sporazumevanja na daljavo. V sodobnem času so pomemben pripomoček vsakega posameznika. Njihovo stavčno zgradbo tvorijo predvsem enostavčne in pastavčne povedi.

Title:YOUTH SOCIOLECT IN ELECTRONIC MEDIA
Abstract:Electronic media such as computers, phones, pads etc. are designed to record and store computer data, thus enabling data transfer. In modern times, they have become almost indispensable and are used by virtually everyone. Facilitating modern communication methods, these gadgets are the latest trend among users of the younger generation. A corollary to the ubiquitous use of electronic media is the changing of the Slovenian language. Communication among the young is based on a specific language variety, i.e. the sociolect, which is the subject of this research. The material examined included digital texts produced with electronic media by youths aged thirteen to fifteen. The analysis involved the visual aspect of the messages. It was established that the messages are in fact spoken language that happens to be written down. The texts occur as short dialogues. Their clause structure consists of simple sentences and vocative/interjectional clauses. The underlying characteristics of the texts in question are that they all involve communication in non-standard language, are marked by high expressiveness and language economy, which shine through on all language levels. The texts consist of 68% linguistic means and 32% non-linguistic means, predominantly emoticons, followed by abbreviations and other means of expression.
