Title:Puppet - my friend in times
Abstract:In the theoretical part of this thesis, we present puppets and their role in everyday preschool life based on expert literature. We focused on positive effects of puppets on a child's development and some better-known approaches and methods used to incorporate puppets in preschools. We continued by describing less known areas where puppets can be used: therapeutic puppetry, play therapy and art therapy. We used and described these terms because they include specific elements that can also be integrated into puppet activities in preschool. This is the main topic of our empirical part, for which we carried out activities in a preschool where we gained insight into how children respond to their favourite puppets, what kind of relationship they develop with them and how they include them into a group, how the puppet affects their motivation for activities and helps them deal with difficult situations, how children experience the making of a puppet, and spontaneous playing with the puppet. This is how we connected our theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
Keywords:preschool child, puppet, puppet as a therapeutic tool, therapeutic puppetry.
