Abstract:Komunikacija je prisotna v vsakem trenutku človekovega življenja.

Title:Nonverbal communication in tourism
Abstract:Communication is present in every moment of a person’s life. It cannot be avoided, because it is taking place in each of us at an unconscious level. It is of key importance, as it is precisely through communication that we show who we really are. Good interpersonal communication is extremely important also in tourism, where communication with a guest is the core activity. It is important that we are able to maintain good interpersonal relationships, which lead to a company’s success. The purpose of this diploma thesis was to show the importance of understanding nonverbal communication in tourism. In the empirical section, a survey was conducted at the Čatež Hotel and the Toplice Hotel; by analysing the survey it has been determined that the employees are insufficiently aware of the importance of nonverbal communication. This survey wished to make people, especially those employed in tourism, more aware of nonverbal communication, since it gives us more information than the verbal one. People express their thoughts and feelings through nonverbal signs, which is why it is important that we devote sufficient attention to this type of communication.
