Najpogostejši dejavniki povezani z nastankom krčnih žil so ženski spol, dolga delovna doba, genetska nagnjenost, premalo gibanja, nepravilno delovanje črevesja predvsem zaprtost, več urno sedenje in stanje, povišan ITM.

The most common factors associated with the formation of varicose veins are female sex, long years of service, genetic predisposition, lack of exercise, constipation, sitting and standing for more hours, increased BMI. The purpose of the diploma work is to determine the prevalence of varicose veins in fealthcare workers in one of the general hospitals in Slovenia. Most women gave birth two or more times. 38% of respondents do not exercise enough. A little over a third of respondents have varicose veins. Only 12% of the surveyed wear compression stockings. Discussion and conclusion: We found that more than third of respondents have varicose veins, but among those who do not have developed varicose veins have some of them already have a problem that indicates a predisposition to the formation of varicose veins. We have fond the following risk factors are: female sex, standing during work shift for more than 4 hours, increased ITM, obesity, giving birth two or more times and genetic predisposition.
