Obravnavali smo mladostnika z II. stopnjo cerebralne paralize.

Title:Holistic treatment of adolescents with cerebral palsy
Abstract:Theoretical background: Cerebral palsy is a movement disorder that belongs to a group of special needs. This diploma thesis presents cerebral palsy, including her causes, consequences, symptoms and rehabilitation techniques. We wondered about the connection between quality of children and adolescents in Slovenia and with the help of the interview, we wanted to find out what an adolescent thinks about holistic treatment of cerebral palsy in their early childhood and after they turned 18. Research methodology: For theoretic part we used descreptive method by analsyzing academic sources. The qualitative research was conducted through a case study and interview, which included 14 activites of daily living by Virginia Henderson. We treated the adolescent with level II cerebral palsy. Results: Using a case study, we came to the conclusion that a patient with level II. cerebral palsy is mostly independent, although he has issues with gross and fine motor skills. The problem lies in social isolation and in lack of therapeutic treatments after he turned 18. Conclusion: Life with cerebral palsy is diferent for each person, depends on their level of disability. Effective treatments, support for health and rehabilitation allows the life of people with cerebral palsy to be almost the same as in the healthy population.
