Abstract:Diplomska naloga sestoji iz treh delov.

Title:Preparation of Students for Performances from Didactics of Dance Education
Abstract:This thesis consists of three main parts. The first part is theoretical and is devoted to the history of dance and its definition. We have also focused on the national document ‘Kurikulum za vrtce’ (Kindergarten curriculum) which serves as a basis for planning kindergarten activities. This part of the thesis describes the curriculum’s value when planning dance activities, as well as the various aims, principles, methods and approaches used by teachers for creating diverse and engaging activities. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on the students’ opinions on the preparation process for their dance didactics performances. The latter were held in four different units of kindergartens in Maribor and were evaluated by the programme leader. Some students found the preparations easy, while others felt they were quite difficult. After their performances, the students were asked to fill out our survey about their feelings before, during and after their preparations. We were interested in how they felt about the importance of their choice of theme and whether they thought their prior knowledge played a significant role in the process. The practical part of the thesis consists of diary entries included in performance preparations of those students who needed help in the preparation process. We included a group of 60 preschool education students who completed their performances in the academic year 2017/18. Our research process included the technique of observation, diary entries, a survey and a literature review.
