Abstract:V zaključnem delu z naslovom Razvoj pripovedovanja zgodbe ob slikah v 1. razredu je bil namen preveriti, kako otroci pripovedujejo zgodbo ob slikah in kakšen je njihov razvoj pripovedovanja v določenem obdobju.

Title:The development of storytelling with pictures in the 1st grade
Abstract:The purpose of the thesis, titled The development of storytelling with pictures in the 1st grade, is to evaluate how the children construct a story and how the process of storytelling develops in a given period. The theoretical part explores the development of speech from the preschool period onwards. Being one of the key influences on storytelling, we also focus on the importance of and the factors influencing listening. The main emphasis of the thesis is storytelling; therefore, it also describes how to encourage storytelling, how storytelling develops and what the factors influencing storytelling are. The thesis touches upon the child’s first stories and the assessment thereof using the criteria of coherence and cohesion. The empirical part aims to assess the development of storytelling over the period of five months. We were interested in how children tell stories with pictures, focusing on the level of coherence and cohesion they can achieve in the first grade. The data obtained was analysed and interpreted. Most children showed an improvement in storytelling over the five-month period. The level of improvement ranged from high to moderate in majority of children, however there were also some cases where no improvement was observed.
