Abstract:Uvod: V diplomskem delu smo raziskali intervencije za preprečevanje in upravljanje arterijske hipertenzije s področja življenjskega sloga. Ravni krvnega tlaka so kljub znanim intervencijam še vedno slabo nadzorovane.

Title:Lifestyle interventions for prevention and managament of arterial hypertension
Abstract:Introduction: In the diploma thesis we have researched interventions for the prevention and management of arterial hypertension in the field of lifestyle. Blood pressure levels are still poorly controlled despite all known interventions. The purpose of our thesis was to investigate interventions that can help prevent and control arterial hypertension. Methods: A review and analysis of the literature was performed, using a descriptive method, an analysis method, and a synthesis of identified sources. The search was conducted in the international databases PubMed, Medline, CINAHL, Cochrane Library and Google Schoolar, in English language. Results: As an effective intervention to prevent arterial hypertension have been found: reductions in salt intake, a healthy diet, regular physical activity, moderate alcohol consumption, and a holistic approach to lifestyle change. Taken into account as effective are interventions which include reducing salt intake, a healthy diet, regular physical activity, losing excess weight, quitting smoking, avoiding stress, and a holistic approach to lifestyle change. Discussion and conclusion: Despite the known methods of disease prevention and control, the number of patients is not decreasing, so it is important to teach people about the disease itself, risk factors and promote a healthy lifestyle.
