Metode: Zaključno delo je izvedeno s pomočjo sistematičnega pregleda literature v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, MEDLINE, CINAHL, Web of Science, ScienceDirect in Cochrane Library. V raziskavo smo vključili članke glede na njihovo vsebino, vrsto raziskav in jezik. Potek pregleda literature je prikazan z diagramom PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses).

Title:Non-pharmacological interventions in the treatment of depression
Abstract:Introduction: Depression is a chronic widespread mental disorder that can be chronic and repeated. There are many different antidepressants on the market. With the incomplete efficacy of antidepressants in patients with severe depressive disorder, alternative treatments for depression have been explored. In this research, we wanted to research the effectiveness of non-pharmacological measures in treating depression. Methods: This thesis was conducted using a systematic review in various databases such as PubMed, MEDLINE, CINAHL, Web of Science, ScienceDirect in Cochrane Library. We included literature in this research according to its content, type of research and language. The quality of literature was assessed using Joanna Briggs Institute tool. The process of a literature review is demonstrated with the PRISMA diagram. Results: The most effective non-pharmacological measure of treating depression are various psychological therapies. There are no significant differences in effectiveness between the different types. Still, the most effective way of treating depression is the combination of psychological therapies and antidepressants. The promising method is applying various treatments conducted via computer or internet. Aerobic exercise can be recommended with a pharmacological approach to treating depression. Discussion and conclusion: We didn’t find the evidence strong enough to indicate that merely a nonpharmacological approach to treating depression is effective as a combined treatment using both antidepressants and psychotherapy. We didn’t find any adverse effects of researched nonpharmacological therapies.
