Metode: Izvedli smo sistematični pristop z metodo pregleda, analize in sinteze strokovne in znanstvene literature. Literaturo smo iskali v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, Wiley Online Library, Scopus in CINAHL.

Title:Risk of developing erysipelas in patients with lymphedema d
Abstract:Introduction: Lymphedema is a chronic swelling of the tissue caused by reduced lymphatic function. When lymphedema is present in the lower extremities, erysipelas often develops. Erysipelas is an acute bacterial, non-purulent infection that affects the upper dermis, but can also spread to superficial cutaneous lymphatic vessels. Health and educational measures regarding skin care, prevention of lymphedema, and recognition of erysipelas signs and symptoms are important for erysipelas management. Methods: We performed a systematic approach using the method of review, analysis and synthesis of professional and scientific literature. We searched the literature in the databases PubMed, Wiley Online Library, Scopus and CINAHL. A critical evaluation of the articles was performed using the JBI tool. Data synthesis was also performed. Results: We included 7 articles in the thematic synthesis. All but one cross-sectional study met six of the eight criteria. The only qualitative survey was rated 6/10. Retrospective studies were evaluated with six and seven of the eleven criteria, respectively. We developed 1 main topic, namely Risk of erysipelas in patients with lymphedema and 4 subtopics: risk factors for erysipelas, origin of erysipelas, prevention of erysipelas and erysipelas characteristics, which help to understand whether adult patients diagnosed with lymphedema at risk of developing erysipelas. Discussion and conclusion: Patients who have been diagnosed with lymphedema also often develop erysipelas. It is important that patients are aware of the early signs of erysipelas and that they know how to seek medical help, as recurrence of erysipelas represents an important proportion of all hospitalizations.
