Abstract:Globoko evtektična topila predstavljajo zeleno alternativo konvencionalnim organskim topilom za ekstrakcijo bioaktivnih učinkovin. Dobljenim ekstraktom smo določili še antioksidativno delovanje s TPC, FRAP in DPPH testi.

Title:Environmentally friendly preparation of rosemary (rosmarinus officinalis l.) extracts with deep eutectic solvents and evaluation of their antioxidant activity
Abstract:Deep eutectic solvents have been explored as green alternative to conventional organic solvents to extract natural bioactive compounds. In this thesis, six deep eutectic solvents were synthesized for the purpose of extracting antioxidant compounds from rosemary, all of which contained choline chloride as hydrogen bond acceptor, and ethylene glycol, 1,2-propanediol, acetic acid, lactic acid, urea and fructose as hydrogen bond donor. As a comparison with a conventional solvent, solutions of different ethanol and methanol concentrations were used. Matrix solid phase dispersion method of sample preparation was used and the high-performance liquid chromatography method with a UV detector (HPLC-UV) was used to identify and quantify the selected compounds. Finally, the extracts obtained were evaluated for their antioxidant activity by TPC, FRAP and DPPH assays. All antioxidant tests showed that the sample in which lactic acid was used as HBD had the highest antioxidant activity, followed by samples obtained with 70% ethanol and with DES solvent, based on acetic acid. The obtained results were compared with a similar study in the field of extraction of phenolic compounds from rosemary using deep eutectic solvents and exceeded their results. Thus, we have developed and introduced a new, fast, more efficient and cost-effective extraction method using deep eutectic solvents fort he preparation of plant extracts with high content of active compounds from rosemary.
