Abstract:Uvod: Motnje hranjenja, med katere spadajo anoreksija nervoza, bulimija nervoza in kompulzivno prenajedanje, so hude psihiatrične motnje, ki med nosečnostjo ženski in plodu povzročijo veliko težav in posledic. Metode: Naredili smo pregled literaturo s pregledom, analizo in sintezo. Literaturo smo s pomočjo vključitvenih in izključitvenih kriterijev iskali v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, Medline, CINAHL in v iskalniku Google Scholar s pomočjo iskalnega niza. Upoštevali smo smernice PRISMA, s katerimi smo predstavili potek iskanja.

Title:The consequences of eating disorders during pregnancy for the fetus and the woman
Abstract:Introduction: Eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder, are one of the most severe psychiatric disorders, that can cause numerous difficulties and consequences for both the pregnant woman and the fetus. The purpose of this research paper is to explore the consequences of eating disorders during pregnancy fort he fetus and the woman. Methods: We conducted a literature review using a process of review, analysis, and synthesis. The literature search was performed in databases such as PubMed, Medline, CINAHL, and the search engine Google Scholar, using inclusion and exclusion criteria and a predefined search string. We followed the PRISMA guidelines to present the search process. The results were presented descriptively and in the form of a table, employing methods of analysis and synthesis. Results: Our findings indicate that eating disorders during pregnancy have consequences for both the fetus and the pregnant woman. In the case of the fetus, these consequences include low birth weight, small length for gestational age, respiratory problems, lower cognitive development, speech disorders, motor developmental disorders, as well as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). In pregnant women, eating disorders are associated with low body weight during pregnancy, an increased risk of cesarean section, preterm birth, and a higher risk of additional health complications. Discussion and Conclusion: Eating disorders in women are common, and during pregnancy, they can lead to additional consequences if left unidentified. Therefore, it is crucial for women to be informed about the consequences of eating disorders and to be aware of the implications for both themselves and their fetus.
