Abstract:V magistrski nalogi smo temeljito raziskali ter analizirali dve ključni metodologiji za vodenje projektov v IT sektorju – Scrum in Slap. V nadaljevanju smo izvedli empirično raziskavo, katere namen je bil pridobiti vpogled v uporabo obeh metodologij v praksi slovenskih IT podjetij.

Title:Comparison of scrum and waterfall project management methodologies
Abstract:In our master's thesis, we thoroughly explored and analyzed two key methodologies for project management in the IT sector – Scrum and Waterfall. Our aim was to gain insight into their strengths, weaknesses, and effectiveness in the practices of Slovenian IT companies. In the first part of the thesis, we introduced the fundamental concepts of traditional and agile methodologies, as well as hybrid approaches to project management. Through the historical background and characteristics of both methodologies, we investigated their applicability and impact on various aspects of project management. Continuing on, we conducted an empirical study with the purpose of gaining insights into the utilization of both methodologies in the practices of Slovenian IT companies. We analyzed the profiles of participating companies and respondents, examined the most commonly used methodologies, and explored how these two methodologies compare in terms of motivation for selection, duration of usage, and effectiveness.
