Abstract:Uvod: Odvisnost v nosečnosti predstavlja velik problem v sodobni družbi. Metode: Uporabili smo sistematični pristop dela z metodo pregleda, analize in sinteze strokovne znanstvene literature. Članke smo iskali v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah PubMed, Medline, Web of Science in ScienceDirect. Pogostejše so prirojene anomalije, vključujoč okvare srca.

Title:Consequences of drug use during pregnancy on the newborn
Abstract:Introduction: Addiction during pregnancy is a major problem in modern society. During pregnancy, the fetus consumes everything the mother consumes through the placenta. Substance use during pregnancy is associated with low birth weight, smaller head circumference, cognitive impairment, sudden death, bleeding and withdrawal syndrome. Withdrawal syndrome is associated with sudden withdrawal from alcohol, nicotine and drugs. Methods: A systematic review was carried out by analysing and synthesizing scientific literature. The articles were searched in the international databases PubMed, Medline, Web of Science, Science Direct. We used the PRISMA approach to display the review. Individual articles were classified according to the hierarchy of evidence. Results: From the 340 identified articles, we included nine articles in the final work. We have come to the conclusion that drug use during pregnancy significantly affects the child's development. Congenital anomalies including heart defects are also more common. In the first years of life, these children differ from a healthy population in cognitive, movement and motor development. Discussion and conclusion: An important step in the prevention is on early detection of drug use at the very beginning of pregnancy or even before it. It is necessary to make women aware of the negative effects of smoking, alcohol, illegal and non-illegal drugs on the fetus. Health workers who in practice encounter newborns who have been prenatally exposed must be consistent in early detection of symptoms and signs and provide supportive medical care.
