Abstract:V diplomski nalogi smo obravnavali podjetje Slovenske Železnice – Tovorni promet d.o.o. in delovanje tovornega prevoza.

Title:Implementation of wagons with swap bodies into the rolling stock of Slovenian Railways
Abstract:The diploma thesis deals with the company Slovenske Železnice – Tovorni promet d. o. o. and the operation of freight transport. We presented the company in more detail and focused on the wagon fleet and issues related to it. In the diploma , we explored the field of wagons with swap bodies, the providers of such wagons and how their implementation in the fleet could contribute to better performance. We displayed the current status of the fleet and the current process of handling goods in freight terminals. During the thesis, we described our proposal for the implementation of wagons with swap bodies and how we could adapt the manipulation process to make it more time efficient. In the course of the thesis, we also described the theoretical field of wagons with swap bodies and their practical application in other railway systems in Europe. In the thesis, we came to the theoretical conclusion that by implementing wagons with swap bodies and changing the work process in freight terminals, we could improve the idle time in which wagons stand by 68% and reduce the occurrence of breakdowns in the wagon fleet. We also found that solutions offered by swap bodies could reduce the amount of empty runs of train compositions and create greater connectivity between road and rail freight transport.
