V začetku so bili opravljeni uvodni intervjuji. Med drugim intervjuji razkrivajo odnos intervjuvancev do branja danes. Sledi drugi del, v katerem so bile preverjene bralne sposobnosti starostnikov. Vsi posamezniki so samostojno prebrali besedilo v lahkem branju.

Title:Comprehension of easy-to-read materials by the elderly
Abstract:In the theoretical part of the master's thesis "Comprehension of Easy-to-read Materials by the Elderly", reading literacy and its building blocks are presented. The 6th building block of reading literacy, which describes reading fluency, is described in detail. The thesis focuses on the criteria of reading fluency, i.e. accuracy, rhythm, technique and expressiveness of reading. It describes easy-to-read designed for a variety of individuals who have comprehension difficulties and are in need of information that can be read more easily. The empirical part of the thesis follows. For this part of the thesis, ten individuals who are residents of a retirement home were selected. First, initial interviews were conducted. This provided an insight into their childhood and youth. The interviews also reveal the interviewees' attitude towards reading today. The second part assessed the reading skills of the elderly. All individuals read the text independently in easy-toread. The 6th building block of reading literacy was assessed using a text written in easyto-read by Simona Kuplen - Slovenia (2018). The results showed that the elderly were fluent readers. For the most part, the elderly do not have any major difficulties with reading, and there were no marked deviations among them. Finally, the last task was to produce the publication Life in the home for the elderly. The publication is written according to the rules of easy-to-read. It will help both new and existing residents to adapt to their new way of life. The master's thesis concludes with the idea that the publication is a "handbook" for the residents, as it presents all the important information about the home.
