Abstract:Vodje v podjetjih in športu ter politiki pogosto uporabljajo različne stile vodenja.

Title:Leading tennis training in the recreational category up to 12 years
Abstract:Leaders in business, sport and politics, often use different leadership styles. Leadership in sport is associated with specific challenges compared to other business and organisational contexts. Coaching leadership plays an important role in the effectiveness of training, the satisfaction and psychological development of athletes and the relationship between players and coaches. Successful coaching means that a coach guides his/her athletes to maintain healthy relationships with their teammates. In addition, an effective coach is able to adapt and adopt appropriate coaching styles in different situations, depending on the athletes' goals, the players' knowledge and maturity, and the weekly training regime. Many young people spend a significant amount of time with their coaches, some even more than with their parents, so it is particularly important to understand the influence of coaches, not only in relation to the progression of athletes' sporting skills, but also in terms of the impact on their education and overall development. The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the impact of leadership styles, particularly autocratic and democratic, on the coach-athlete relationship, the motivation and the satisfaction of athletes at a selected tennis academy. The results of the research will help coaches to choose appropriate leadership styles and improve their interaction with their trainees during training sessions, enhancing their performance and overall development. The survey questionnaire used for the purpose of the thesis was administered to recreational tennis players in the age category up to 12 years. Four main areas that influence perseverance, motivation and progression in tennis were studied. On the basis of the importance from the players' perspective, different factors were ranked and examined to identify a direct positive influence of democratic leadership, whereas this was not the case for autocratic style in the majority of the cases. It is crucial to stress that coaches need to understand the impact of different leadership styles and the importance of democratic leadership in improving children's motivation, satisfaction with training and self-contentment, as well as their desire to continue practising sport, in our case tennis.
