Abstract:V magistrskem delu smo raziskovali področje IT arhitektur, zlasti mikrostoritvenega in brezstrežniškega arhitekturnega vzorca.

Title:Comparative analysis of approaches to building a solution based on microservice and serverless architecture
Abstract:In this master's thesis, we explored the field of IT architectures, particularly microservices and serverless architectural patterns. In modern IT environments, more and more architectural patterns are emerging, which may seem similar in theory, but in practice, present significant challenges, especially when it comes to choosing based on capabilities, efficiency and financial investment. Despite the physical limitations of the infrastructure, we conducted various stress tests to obtain clear and objective results. Through different system load tests based on these two architectures, it became evidentthat serverless architecture has several limitations. The biggest limitation of serverless architecture is the infrastructure, over which the developer has no control. On the other hand, microservices architecture demonstrated resilience to loads as a key advantage, as the developer can fine-tune it in detail. In application development, the serverless architecture offered carefree usage and required less knowledge of the infrastructure, while the microservices pattern demanded a high level of infrastructure knowledge but provided better capabilities for handling requests and response.
