Abstract:V diplomski nalogi smo raziskovali koliko angleškega jezika, natančneje angleških izrazov, smo Slovenci prinesli v tradicionalne medije in s kakšnim namenom.

Title:The Use of English Language on Slovenian Television and Radio
Abstract:In the diploma thesis, we investigated how much of the English language, more specifically English expressions, Slovenians brought into traditional media and for what purpose. Radio and television are traditional media and one of the first to be used by Slovenians. The word “traditional – tradition”, means that something originates from the roots of a certain nation and transmits their customs and culture from generation to generation. On Slovenian television and radio, the use of English expressions is growing, which is good for young people, who speak English better than older Slovenians. In the analysis, we asked the general public how often they hear English expressions in traditional media, and whether they find it useful or annoying. In the meantime, we also asked some media houses if they use English expressions in their shows, which are the most common expressions that they use and why this has become a trend.
