Opredelili smo samopodobo vzgojitelja in njegovo vlogo pri razvoju samopodobe predšolskih otrok in našteli nekaj strategij za razvijanje pozitivne samopodobe. Nato smo povzeli vpliv komunikacije vzgojitelja na razvoj samopodobe predšolskih otrok. V empiričnem delu diplomskega dela so predstavljeni rezultati in interpretacija intervjujev z diplomiranimi vzgojitelji in vzgojiteljicami predšolskih otrok iz štirih različnih vrtcev Savinjske regije.

Title:Communication style of the educator and self-image of the preschool child
Abstract:The thesis entitled Communication style of the educator and self-image of the preschool child consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, the concept of communication is defined in general, verbal and non-verbal communication is described, pedagogical communication is defined and the importance of feedback, listening, praise and criticism and a positive verbal environment is presented. Next, we looked at the self-image of the pre-school child. We explained the concept of self-esteem, its development and its importance for the individual and then turned to the self-esteem of the pre-school child. We defined the self-image of the educator and his/her role in the development of the self-image of pre-school children and listed some strategies for developing a positive self-image. We then summarised the impact of the educator's communication on the development of preschool children's self-esteem. In the empirical part of the thesis, are presented the results and interpretation of interviews with graduate teachers of preschool children from four different kindergartens in the Savinja region. We were interested in how the educator's communication influences the development of the preschool children's self-image. On the basis of the obtained data, we found that the teachers involved in the study believe that communication has a significant impact and can promote or inhibit the development of the preschool child's self-image.
