Sorojenci so pokazali večjo vključenost, empatijo in občutek povezanosti.

Title:Working with families of children with special needs at home
Abstract:This master's thesis examines the impact of home-based early intervention on families of children with special needs. The aim of the research was to determine how the involvement of an early intervention provider affects the functioning of the child, parents, siblings, and overall family dynamics. The study was based on a qualitative approach. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with parents before and after the implementation of early intervention, as well as an interview with the early intervention provider. The collected data were analysed using thematic analysis, identifying key changes in family life following the introduction of professional support. The research results indicate that home-based early intervention contributed to improvements in children's social behaviour, adaptability to changes, and a reduction in behavioural outbursts. Parents gained greater confidence and competence in parenting, reporting reduced stress and better family organization. Siblings demonstrated increased involvement, empathy, and a sense of connection. The most effective methods included the use of visual aids, clear rules, positive reinforcement, and sensory regulation. This study enhances the understanding of the role of early intervention in supporting families of children with special needs and provides guidelines for practitioners and policymakers in early intervention. Despite limitations such as a small sample size and the subjective nature of the data, the research opens avenues for further exploration of the long-term effects of early intervention and ways to improve support for siblings and parents.
Keywords:Early intervention, children with special needs, family dynamics, parenting, developmental disorders, social interaction, family support.
