Abstract:V magistrskem delu sta predstavljena vzpon in padec dveh mož, angleškega kralja Riharda III. in vojskovodje Cesareja Borgie.

Title:Richard III, King of England, and Cesare Borgia, commander : parallel biographies of two men who became the symbol of time and character
Abstract:This master's thesis presents the rise and fall of two men, Richard III, King of England, and commander Cesare Borgia. Richard III is considered the infamous English king with whom the famous Plantagenet dynasty came to an end. The death of Richard III brought to its end the Wars of the Roses between the houses of York and Lancaster, which lasted from 1455 to 1485 when Henry VI became King of England. Tudor defeated Richard III and later united the two families under the Tudor coat of arms. Richard rose to power through political intrigue and the alleged murder of his nephew, Edward, the heir to the throne and son of Edward IV. His fall at the Battle of Bosworth Field was as swift as his rise to power was in 1483. Cesare Borgia is regarded as a stubborn and implacable military leader who began his career as a cardinal under the patronage of his father, Rodrigo Borgia (later Pope Alexander VI). His career under the Church's wing ended abruptly when his elder brother died, and his father appointed him military commander and commander of the papal forces. Together with his father, Cesare embarked on a mission to establish the Papacy as the hereditary succession and Romagna as the hereditary province of the Borgia family. Cesare's career also ends with his fall as a military commander in battle in 1507, when he tried to retain his power and position after the death of his father, but the attempt failed. The master's thesis focuses on comparing the two great men, the interpretations of their characters in literature over the centuries, especially in the works of William Shakespeare and Niccolo Machiavelli, myths, truths, and their symbolic role in European and world history.
