Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava optimizacijo poslovnih procesov v malih in srednje velikih podjetjih v kontekstu kriznih razmer.

Title:Optimization of business processes before, during and after times of crisis: a case study on the introduction of key performance indicators
Abstract:This thesis explores the optimization of business operations in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the context of crisis situations. It presents the development of a simple model for monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) using accessible tools such as Microsoft Excel. The objective is to demonstrate that even with limited resources, businesses can establish an efficient system for risk detection and improve organizational resilience. A case study of a printing company facing customer loss and low level of digitalization was analyzed. Indicators such as profitability, liquidity, indebtedness, and return on assets are evaluated to detect early signs of crisis. The importance of systematic data collection and the potential for upgrading the model into a more advanced digital solution are emphasized. The study aligns with the Sendai Framework by highlighting proactive risk management. The findings confirm that tracking KPIs, even in their basic form, significantly enhances business resilience and stability and offers possibilities for further development.
