Abstract:Tetoviranje kot telesni izraz postaja del vsakdanje estetike in izgublja nekdanjo stigmo. V teoretičnem delu opredelimo pojem tatu, zgodovinski razvoj tetoviranja, sodobne trende, stigmatizacijo, vpliv tetovaž v povezavi z otroki, zaposlovanjem v pedagoškem in zdravstvenem sektorju ter možna medicinska tveganja.

Title:The perspective of Croatian high school students on the tattoos of pedagogical workers
Abstract:Tattooing as a bodily expression is becoming part of everyday aesthetics and is losing its former stigma. Despite the widespread presence of tattoos, in professions such as education, the question of their acceptability remains, as educators, in addition to teaching, shape values and serve as role models for young people. In this context, the question arises as to how Croatian secondary school students perceive tattoos in their teachers. In the theoretical section, we define the concept of tattoos, the historical development of tattooing, current trends, stigmatization, the impact of tattoos in relation to children, employment in the education and health sector, and possible medical risks. In the empirical part, we analyzed the answers of 330 secondary school students from the Secondary school in Čakovec. The results of the survey show that most secondary school students have neutral attitudes towards tattoos in general and towards teachers in terms of their professionalism, authority, and expectations of traditional appearance. In addition, the results show that the school curriculum of secondary school students (gymnasium, medical studies) has only a minor influence on their views of tattooed people. The findings indicate a shift in the perception of tattoos, which are less and less associated with prejudice. Young people show greater tolerance towards tattooed people, including teachers, which raises the question of the impact of outward appearance on attitudes in education and the importance of content over appearance in society.
