Title:Getting to know the technical skills of preschool children with the help of a didactic toy
Abstract:This thesis explores the importance of developing technical skills in preschool children through the use of educational toy. The aim of the research was to examine how a carefully designed educational toy – in this case, a didactic house – can support the development of technical thinking, manual skills, and problem-solving abilities in children aged 3 to 5. The study included 20 children from two kindergarten groups who participated in structured activities involving the didactic house. The research was based on observation using predefined criteria and qualitative analysis of the children's behavior during play. The theoretical part presents the role of technical education in early childhood, the importance of play in a child's development, and the role of educators in supporting technical skills. The practical part describes the construction of the didactic house and the implementation of the observation in the preschool environment. The results showed that the toy effectively encouraged curiosity, independence, cooperation, and the development of manual skills. Children demonstrated progress in basic technical understanding and problem-solving through play. The findings confirm that incorporating technical content into preschool education through educational toys can significantly contribute to the child's holistic development.
