Cilj naloge je bil razvoj avtomatiziranega postopka sestavljanja s pomočjo 2D strojnega vida, kjer robot samostojno zazna komponente, določi njihove pozicije in jih pravilno vstavi.

Title:Development of a laboratory robotic assembly application using 2d machine vision
Abstract:The thesis presents the development of a laboratory robotic application for inserting rings and buttons into an oven housing using a collaborative UR5e robot and an industrial Keyence IV4-600CA-G camera. The goal of the project was to develop an automated assembly process using 2D machine vision, where the robot independently detects the components, determines their positions, and inserts them correctly. After each insertion, the system verifies the correctness using the camera. During the development process, force control and hybrid position-force control were also employed to enable more reliable assembly despite relatively large mechanical deviations. The results demonstrated high accuracy and reliability in inserting the rings from the beginning, whereas the button insertion required several software and mechanical improvements to achieve satisfactory results. As a potential future upgrade, we propose improving the detection of the orientation of the tab and holes on the oven, which would enable faster and more reliable insertion.
