Abstract:V zaključnem delu smo raziskovali, kako največje turistične platforme, TripAdvisor, Booking.com in Google, gradijo verodostojnost uporabniških ocen in s tem povečujejo njihov prepričevalni učinek.

Title:How do TripAdvisor, Booking.com and Google aim to enhance the credibility of user reviews to increase the effectiveness of social influence as a persuasion technique?
Abstract:In our thesis, we explored how the largest tourist platforms, TripAdvisor, Booking.com and Google, build the credibility of user reviews and thereby increase their persuasive effect. The thesis was divided into a theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part, we presented the impact of online content, social media and user reviews on consumer behavior. We also examined the operation of the selected platforms, their business models and approaches to establishing trust in user-generated content. Special attention was given to social influence techniques, which we analyzed through four dimensions of credibility: expertise, non-anonymity, similarity and attractiveness. In the empirical part, we applied a qualitative research method, which involved analyzing the terms of use of each platform and conducting a thematic multimodal analysis of user comments. We explored the role of various techniques that affect the perception of credibility, such as verifying user profiles, validating experiences and including content that increases user engagement. Based on the analyzed cases, we identified key strategies used by the platforms to enhance the credibility and influence of user reviews.
