Title:Comparison of family-friendly measures in companies with and without a family-friendly enterprise certificate
Abstract:This thesis examines the awareness, use, and perception of measures for achieving work–life balance among employees in Slovenian companies, comparing results between companies with the "Family-Friendly Company” certificate and those without it. The aim was to determine whether the presence of the certificate influences higher employee awareness, greater utilisation of measures, and better perception of work–life balance. The research, conducted through an online survey of 105 employees, showed no statistically significant difference in awareness of measures between employees in companies with and without the DPP certificate. The use of measures was slightly higher in companies with the certificate (48%) compared to those without it (33%), but the difference was not statistically significant. A statistically significant positive relationship between the use of measures and the perception of better work–life balance was found only in companies without the certificate, suggesting that other factors—such as organisational culture and HR policies—may influence work–life balance in companies with the DPP certificate. The findings indicate that the DPP certificate alone does not ensure higher awareness or greater use of measures; rather, the key lies in the way it is implemented, the adaptation of measures to employees’ needs, and effective internal communication.
