Abstract:V obstoječem slovenskem Kurikulumu za vrtce tehnične vsebine niso sistematično zastopane, zato otroci le redko razvijajo zgodnje razumevanje materialov, orodij in tehnoloških procesov. V nadaljevanju smo v igralnico vrtca namestili začasni tehnični kotiček, opremljen z osnovnim obdelovalnim in zarisnim orodjem, kjer smo želeli otrokom približati tehnične vsebine skozi igro in praktično delo. Načrtovali smo pet dejavnosti v povezavi s tehniko in uporabili material les, papir, tekstil, odpadno embalažo in kovino. Spremljanja so pokazala, da so otroci s pomočjo praktičnih nalog razvijali ročne spretnosti, ustvarjalnost in tehnično razmišljanje. Na podlagi vseh ugotovitev sklepamo, da sistematična vključitev tehničnih vsebin v vrtčevsko okolje pomembno vpliva k razvoju tehničnih kompetenc, zato priporočamo izvajanje tehničnih dejavnosti in vključitev tehničnega kotička v vzgojno-izobraževalno delo.

Title:The technical corner as a stimulating environment for learning and play for preschool children aged 5 to 6 years
Abstract:The current Slovenian Kindergarten Curriculum does not include technical content in a systematic way, so children rarely get the chance to develop an early understanding of materials, tools, and technological processes. The aim of this study was to examine how often preschooler teachers at Ivanjkovci Kindergarten use technical corners and different materials – such as wood, metal, paper, plastic, and textiles – in their teaching, and to assess the effects of a temporary technical corner on the development of children’s technical thinking. The research used a qualitative method (non-standardized interview) with a sample of four preschool teachers from Ivanjkovci Kindergarten. The results revealed that teachers rarely use technical corners or carry out planned technology-related activities; and when they do, paper and waste packaging are the most common materials. Subsequently, we set up a temporary technical corner in the kindergarten classroom, equipped with basic processing and marking tools, to engage children with technical content through play and practical activities. Five activities were planned, using wood, paper, textiles, waste packaging, and metal. Observations revealed that children developed their manual skills, creativity, and technical thinking while completing practical tasks. Based on the results, it can be concluded that systematically including technical content in kindergarten practice strongly supports the development of children’s technical competences. Therefore, the study recommends introducing technical activities and establishing technical corners in early childhood education.
