Metode: Izvedli smo pregled, analizo in sintezo literature.

Title:The use of probiotics in the treatment of children with antibiotic-associated diarrhea
Abstract:Introduction: Probiotics represent important microorganisms that have positive effects on hosts when administered in appropriate amounts. By conducting a literature review, we aimed to examine the efficacy of probiotics in the treatment and prevention of antibiotic-associated diarrhea in children. Methods: We conducted a review, analysis and synthesis of literature. For the search we used the following databeses PuBMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley, CINAHL. We depicted the progress of the search using the PRISMA flow diagram. Results: We included 17 studies in the final study. The findings of the studies vary depending on the specific probiotic strain invesigated. In the majority of cases, a reduction in the frequency and duration of diarrhea was observed, along with alleviation of abdominal discomfort, fewer complications, and a decreased rate of hospitalization among children experiencing antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Discussion and conclusion: Our findings indicate that certain probiotic benefit children with antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Further research in this area is warranted, especially on less-studied strains and on optimizing the dosage and duration of adminisration for thosewith proven efficacy., beceause antibiotic-associated diarrhea is common in children, affecting treatment and parental adherence.Well-studied probiotics could significantly support healthcare professionals in its management.
