Abstract:Magistrsko delo razširja poznavanje slovenske literature na temo LGBTQIA+ znotraj vzgojno-izobraževalnega procesa.

Title:A review of LGBTQIA+ literature in Slovene language, intended for educators
Abstract:This Master’s Thesis expands the understanding of Slovenian literature on LGBTQIA+ within the educational process. It is intended for pedagogical professionals who encounter questions and dilemmas regarding the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ topics in school settings. The aim of the thesis is to examine three central online databases in Slovenia (COBISS, Google Scholar, and the Digital Library of Slovenia) and, within specific criteria, identify high-quality literature. The theoretical part presents the basic LGBTQIA+ terminology, followed by an overview of the medical perspective on transgender identities and gender dysphoria, as well as a description of the developmental-psychological aspects of gender identity formation. The core focus is the pedagogical perspective, which addresses the general characteristics of peer violence and peer violence in relation to LGBTQIA+ individuals. The empirical part introduces the literature that met the prescribed criteria. The analysis of sources was based on predefined parameters, including the time of publication, accessibility, scholarly relevance, language, and pedagogical orientation. The results indicate that there is a shortage of high-quality literature on LGBTQIA+ topics within the Slovenian pedagogical field, highlighting the need for further research and the development of scientifically grounded resources. In the concluding section, the thesis emphasizes the importance of professional engagement with sensitive topics in school environments. Pedagogical approaches to LGBTQIA+ issues must be grounded in scientifically verified knowledge and take into account the holistic and long-term development of children and adolescents, while also ensuring the proper education of pedagogical staff.
