Abstract:Uvod: Peritonealna dializa je ena izmed metod zdravljenja bolnikov s končno ledvično odpovedjo, pri kateri predstavlja peritonitis enega najpogostejših in najresnejših zapletov. Metode: Izvedli smo pregled literature v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, Web of Science, SAGE Journals in v iskalniku Google Učenjak. Vključili smo raziskave, objavljene med letoma 2015 in 2025. Podatke smo analizirali in ocenili kakovost dokazov. Postopek iskanja je prikazan s PRISMA diagramom. Rezultati: Skupno smo identificirali 64 zadetkov. V prihodnje bo treba izobraževalne programe še izboljšati in jih prilagoditi potrebam bolnikov.

Title:Nursing interventions to prevent peritonitis in patients treated with peritoneal dialysis
Abstract:Introduction: Peritoneal dialysis is one of the methods used to treat patients with end-stage renal failure, but peritonitis is one of the most common and serious complications. Nursing interventions play a key role in preventing complications and improving the quality of life of patients on peritoneal dialysis. The aim of this thesis was to investigate their impact on reducing the incidence of peritonitis. Methods: We conducted a literature review in the PubMed, Web of Science, SAGE Journals databases and in the Google Scholar search engine. We included studies published between 2015 and 2025. We analyzed the data and assessed the quality of the evidence. The search process is shown in the PRISMA diagram. Results: We identified a total of 64 hits. We included 8 articles in the final analysis. We found that educational interventions by nurses reduce the risk of peritonitis and improve patients' quality of life. Some studies confirm that structured programs, such as the new peritoneal education program, significantly reduce the incidence of peritonitis and contribute to better clinical outcomes. Discussion and conclusion: We found that the success of peritoneal dialysis is closely linked to the educational approaches of nurses, which reduce the risk of peritonitis and increase the independence and quality of life of patients. In the future, educational programs will need to be further improved and adapted to the needs of patients.
