Abstract:Magistrska naloga obravnava šolsko kulturo kot enega izmed ključnih dejavnikov uspešnosti in razvoja vzgojno-izobraževalnih ustanov. Takšne spremembe bodo šoli omogočile trajnostni razvoj, večjo konkurenčnost in uspešnejše soočanje z izzivi prihodnosti.

Title:An analysis of the school culture at x secondary school
Abstract:The master's thesis explores school culture as one of the key factors in the success and development of educational institutions. School culture encompasses values, norms, beliefs, relationships, and behavioral patterns that shape the everyday functioning of teachers, school leadership, students, and the wider community. The research was conducted at Secondary School X, which faces challenges related to employee relations, student motivation, and responses to changes in the environment. The aim of the thesis was to analyze the perceived and desired school culture and to develop proposals for its improvement. Methodologically, the research is based on a quantitative approach using the standardized OCAI questionnaire (Cameron and Quinn), which measures six dimensions of organizational culture. A total of 35 employees participated in the study. The data were collected anonymously and analyzed with descriptive statistics and comparative analysis. The results show that clan and hierarchical cultures predominate at the school, indicating that relationships, cooperation, and stability are strongly expressed, while innovation and flexibility, typical of adhocracy, are less evident. School performance is mostly measured by goal achievement and efficiency, which reflects elements of market culture. The analysis confirmed that the existing culture provides stability but also leaves room for strengthening innovation, collaboration, and professional development of employees. In conclusion, the thesis emphasizes that Secondary School X has the opportunity to design a strategic action plan for improving its school culture, including fostering innovation, balancing hierarchical structures with collaborative approaches, promoting professional development, and applying balanced performance measurement. Such changes will enable the school to achieve sustainable development, greater competitiveness, and better preparedness for future challenges.
