Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo raziskovali vlogo izbranih eksperimentov pri pridobivanju znanja o snoveh in njihovih lastnosti v drugem starostnem obdobju v vrtcu. Preko eksperimentov smo otrokom pojasnili pomene besed gnetljivost, strjevanje, raztapljanje, taljenje, redko-gosto in plava-potone. Pred in po izvedbi eksperimentov smo izvedli individualne intervjuje z izbranimi osmimi otroki. Preko intervjuja smo preverili napredek o razumevanju pomena teh besed.

Title:Discovering substances through natural science experiments in the second age group in preschool
Abstract:In our diploma paper, we investigated the role of selected experiments in acquiring knowledge about substances and their properties in the second age group in preschool. Through natural science experiments, we wanted to playfully teach children about everyday materials, such as water, ice, wax, sugar, salt, oil, fruit syrup and dishwashing liquid. We planned experimental activities in which 22 children aged 5 to 6 participated. Through the experiments, we explained the meanings of words such as malleability, hardening, dissolving, melting, thin-dense, and float-sink to the children. Before and after the experiments, we conducted individual interviews with eight selected children. Through the interviews, we monitored their progress in understanding the meaning of these words. We observed that the children's understanding of natural science concepts improved through the experiments and active participation. They discovered that ice does not disappear when salt is added; rather, it transforms into water, that is, it melts. Through experiments, they also discovered that wax changes from a solid to a liquid state when heated and solidifies again when cooled.
