Title:The well-being of different generation at workplace
Abstract:The understanding and experience of well-being in the workplace varies significantly between generations. This is not merely an individual need of employees, but a key factor that directly influences the performance and efficiency of the organization as a whole. Well-being is most often referred to as subjective and psychological well-being. Understanding the needs and expectations of different generations in the workplace is essential for maintaining productivity, creativity and stability. Different generations – Baby Boom, X, Y (millennials) and Z – have specific requirements regarding the work environment, which is reflected in their experience of satisfaction, engagement and general well-being in the workplace. Therefore, we conducted a survey in organization X on the well-being of different generations in the workplace in order to determine whether there are statistically significant differences between generations in their well-being in the workplace and whether there are statistically significant differences between generations in intergenerational cooperation. To find the answers, we conducted the research using a questionnaire in organization X in Slovenia. We analyzed the data using SPSS using descriptive statistics and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) to determine differences between generations in experiencing well-being in the workplace. In the case of statistically significant differences, we performed a post-hoc test. We found that there are only partially statistically significant differences between generations in their well-being at work. On the other hand, we found that there are no statistically significant differences between generations in intergenerational cooperation. The research showed that the generations do not differ statistically significantly in how much they experience intergenerational cooperation as a source of personal and professional development, that generation Z does not statistically significantly assess the impact of intergenerational cooperation on team innovation higher than generation X, and that generation Y does not believe, more than other generations, that intergenerational cooperation contributes to creating a positive work environment.
