Title:Working from home as a permanent form of work
Abstract:The purpose of this master’s thesis is to examine remote work as a long-term work arrangement and to analyze its impact on employees. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the concept, development, advantages, and challenges of remote work based on relevant domestic and foreign literature. Special attention is given to its effects on productivity, motivation, employee well-being, communication, use of technology, career development, and work–life balance. The empirical part of the research is based on a quantitative research approach using an anonymous online questionnaire. The survey included employees who work remotely on a full-time basis. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. The results show that remote work has a generally positive impact on productivity, motivation, creativity, and work–life balance, while challenges are primarily related to communication, blurred boundaries between work and private life, and long-term career development. The findings indicate that successful implementation of remote work depends not only on technological support but also on organizational culture, clear expectations, trust, and management support. The thesis contributes to a better understanding of the effects of full-time remote work on employees and provides a basis for further research in this field. Future studies could expand the research sample and include comparisons between different work arrangements, such as office-based, hybrid, and fully remote work
