Abstract:Uvod: Varnost pacientov in kultura varnosti pacientov sta temelja odlične zdravstvene oskrbe. Metode: Izvedli smo sistematičen pregled literature v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, MEDLINE in CINAHL Ultimate. Vključili smo pregledne raziskave in posamične raziskave s kvalitativno in kvantitativno metodologijo. Izključili smo tematsko neustrezne članke, publikacije v drugih jezikih in druge vrste publikacij. Proces pregleda literature smo prikazali v PRISMA diagramu. Rezultati: V analizo smo vključili petnajst raziskav. Pozitivno ocenjena vidika sta organizacijsko učenje in timsko delo znotraj enot

Title:Perception of safety culture in emergency services
Abstract:Introduction: Patient safety and a patient safety culture are the foundations of excellent healthcare. To develop a positive safety culture, the first step is to assess the existing safety culture in the organization and identify staff attitudes and perceptions about patient safety. Organizations need to identify the necessary conditions to improve patient safety culture and reduce adverse event rates. Methods: We conducted a systematic literature review in the PubMed, MEDLINE and CINAHL Ultimate databases. We included review studies and individual studies that used both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. We excluded thematically irrelevant articles, publications in other languages and other types of publications. We illustrated the literature review process in a PRISMA diagram. Results: We included fifteen studies in the analysis. We found that medical staff in emergency departments perceive safety culture differently, but all findings are consistent: a good safety culture in emergency departments requires a positive environment, minimal exposure to stressful situations, strong team cooperation, effective communication, and, most importantly, support from the manager. Discussion and conclusion: The perception of safety culture varies depending on professional profiles, work environment and psychophysical factors. The most problematic areas are the response to errors, the frequency of adverse events reporting and handovers and transitions. Positively assessed aspects are organizational learning and teamwork within units.
