Literaturo smo iskali v bazah CINAHL Ultimate, Web of Science in ScienceDirect ter dodatno v Google Učenjaku. Potrebne so kakovostnejše raziskave z dolgoročnim spremljanjem učinkov in usmeritev izobraževanj v praktične kompetence.

Title:Correlation between nurses’ education and the recognition of post-traumatic stress disorder
Abstract:Introduction: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a common and burdensome mental disorder that is often overlooked or misdiagnosed in clinical practice. The aim of this master’s thesis was to examine how nursing education is associated with the recognition of PTSD. Methods: A descriptive approach was used, and a literature review served as the basis for the analysis and synthesis of findings. Literature was searched in the CINAHL Ultimate, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect databases, with additional searches in Google Scholar. The studies were critically appraised using the JBI tool and analysed through qualitative content analysis with coding. Results: A total of 602 records were identified, of which 8 studies were included in the final analysis. The findings indicate that education increases knowledge, confidence, and comfort in recognizing trauma. However, the studies do not confirm a consistent transfer of acquired knowledge into routine clinical practice, which is associated with limitations in screening practices, symptom overlap, and systemic barriers. Discussion and conclusion: Education significantly contributes to nurses’ competence, but by itself does not ensure reliable recognition of PTSD. The application of knowledge in clinical judgement and the integration of screening approaches into everyday care remain essential. Higher-quality studies with long-term follow-up and education focused on practical competencies are needed.
