Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava poznavanje in stališča učiteljev do vključevanja elementov borilnih veščin v redni program športa v osnovni šoli. Kljub temu učitelji večinoma izražajo pozitivna stališča do teh vsebin ter prepoznavajo njihov prispevek k razvoju samodiscipline, samokontrole, sodelovanja, spoštovanja in nekaterih gibalnih sposobnosti. Ugotovitve raziskave poudarjajo pomen dodatnega strokovnega usposabljanja učiteljev ter priprave didaktično prilagojenih vsebin za varno in smiselno vključevanje elementov borilnih veščin v šolski prostor.

Title:Teachers' Knowledge of and Attitudes on the Inclusion of Martial Arts in the Regular Physical Education Curriculum in Primary Schools
Abstract:This master's thesis examines teachers' knowledge of and attitudes toward the inclusion of martial arts elements in the regular physical education program in primary school. The aim of the study was to determine familiarity of the teachers with the basic characteristics of individual martial arts, to what extent they incorporate their elements into physical education classes, and how they assess their impact on pupils' development. The theoretical part presents definitions of martial arts, their effects on children's overall development, possibilities for their inclusion in the school environment, and the role of martial arts games as a didactic tool. The empirical part is based on a quantitative study conducted using an online questionnaire administered to 195 primary school teachers in Slovenia. The data were analyzed using basic descriptive statistical methods and comparative analysis. The results show that most teachers do not include martial arts elements in physical education classes, with the most common reason being lack of appropriate training. Nevertheless, teachers generally express positive attitudes toward such content and recognize its contribution to the development of self-discipline, self-control, cooperation, respect, and certain motor abilities. The findings highlight the importance of additional professional training for teachers and the preparation of didactically adapted content for safe and meaningful inclusion of martial arts elements in the school environment.
