Abstract:Uvod: Klinično usposabljanje na področju duševnega zdravja študentom zdravstvene nege predstavlja enega izmed najtežjih izzivov. Pred kliničnim usposabljanjem študenti doživljajo različna čustva in stiske. Metode: Iskanje literature je potekalo v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate in MEDLINE (EBSCOhost), Web of Science in Wiley Online Library.

Title:Virtual Reality as an Innovative Tool for Mental Health Education
Abstract:Introduction: Clinical training in mental health is one of the greatest challenges for nursing students. Before entering clinical training, students often experience a range of emotions and anxiety. Effective preparation and deeper understanding are essential to support the learning needs of a technology-oriented generation. The aim is to determine the impact of virtual reality–based education in mental health on students’ readiness for the clinical environment. Methods: The literature search was conducted in PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate, MEDLINE (EBSCOhost), Web of Science, and Wiley Online Library. Selected studies were evaluated using the hierarchy of evidence and critically appraised with the JBI tools and the MMAT scale. Findings were synthesized through content analysis. Results: Seven studies were included in the analysis. The simulations included schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, various depressive disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, substance use disorder, acute distress, and the assessment of suicidal risk, depression, and domestic violence. Other studies examined the development of therapeutic relationships and communication techniques. Discussion and Conclusion: The findings indicate that virtual reality is a realistic and aesthetically appealing method for teaching nursing students. By utilizing virtual reality, students can develop clinical competencies and communication skills, gain a deeper understanding of mental health, and prepare for the clinical setting.
