Abstract:Uvod: Enote intenzivne terapije so med najzahtevnejšimi kliničnimi okolji, kjer delo izvajalcev zdravstvene nege zahteva visoko raven znanja, tehničnih spretnosti, klinične presoje in učinkovitega timskega sodelovanja. Ob tem so izpostavljeni stresu, izgorelosti in čustveni izčrpanosti.

Title:The association of continuing professional education with the well-being and self-confidence of nursing staff in intensive care units
Abstract:Introduction: Intensive care units are among the most demanding clinical environments, where the work of nursing staff requires a high level of knowledge, technical skills, clinical judgment, and effective teamwork. At the same time, nursing staff are exposed to stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion. Continuous professional education is recognized as an important mechanism for strengthening competencies, self-confidence, and the well-being of nursing staff. Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted. The selection process followed PRISMA guidelines. The hierarchy of evidence and critical appraisal of studies were used to assess quality, while the data were analyzed using content analysis. Results: A total of 13 studies were included in the final analysis. It was found that continuous professional education significantly improves the level of knowledge, clinical competencies, and motivation of nurses to work in demanding situations. Discussion and Conclusion: Continuous professional education is an important supportive mechanism for strengthening professional competence, self-confidence, and psychological well-being. For the long-term improvement of healthcare quality, it is important to plan educational programs that, in addition to professional content, also consider the psychological needs of nursing staff.
