Title:Analysis of human resource information system selection and implementation in a production company
Abstract:This thesis examines the implementation of a human resources information system in a production company and the changes that such a solution brings to the management of HR processes. The purpose of the thesis was to present the initial state of HR data management, describe the process of system implementation, and demonstrate how work methods in the HR department changed following the transition from spreadsheets to a system-supported environment. The analysis is based on a review of existing documentation and direct involvement in the system implementation process, which provided an insightful look into the actual implementation process and the daily use of the system. Prior to the system’s implementation, HR data was maintained in various spreadsheets and documents, which allowed for a quick overview but at the same time caused data fragmentation, duplicate records, and increased manual work. With the implementation of the information system, data was integrated and centralized, which simplified the monitoring of HR processes and reduced the need for manual verification. Another significant change is the automatic notification of important deadlines, which improves control over HR obligations. However, in practice, changes in work methods have also emerged. Access to data is no longer as direct as it was in spreadsheets, since obtaining specific information requires several steps. The same applies to documentation, which is no longer stored in traditional folders but within the system, affecting the way documents are searched for.
