Diplomsko delo obsega teoretični in empirični del.

Title:The importance of encouragement in dance improvisation for preschool children
Abstract:The aim of this thesis, titled "The Importance of Encouragement in Dance Improvisation for Preschool Children", was to investigate whether different dance stimuli have varying effects on dance improvisation among preschool children. The thesis consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part presents dance in general and dance in preschool years, dance education, its impact on a child's development, dance education as a component of the preschool curriculum, and the role of the teacher in planning and implementing dance activities. It also introduces concepts such as dance elements, dance improvisation, and stimuli for dance activities. The empirical part presents the planned and implemented dance activities, which are based on the improvisation method and were carried out with children aged 5 to 6. It also provides analyses of these activities and tabular presentations of the results of the observation protocol, adapted for the study. The results show that material incentives more frequently encouraged spontaneous movement, whilst non-material incentives encouraged imagination and symbolic expression. The study also found minor differences between girls and boys in their use of space, rhythm, and variety of movement. The research confirms that dance improvisation makes a significant contribution to the development of creativity, movement expression, self-confidence and the holistic development of children; therefore, its inclusion in preschool education is both sensible and important.
