Abstract:V diplomskem delu sta bila obravnavana učenje plavanja in napredek učencev prve triade na plavalnih tečajih.

Title:Swimming in the first triennium of primary school
Abstract:This diploma thesis examined swimming instruction and the progress of elementary school students in swimming courses. The aim of the study was to determine how children’s participation, positive motivation, and the incorporation of play influence their progress. The theoretical section briefly introduced swimming and the importance of swimming skills even for younger children. It discussed teaching methods and didactic principles that teachers use when teaching swimming. In the empirical part, children were observed during a swimming course, with the children divided into groups based on their prior knowledge. The research results confirmed the hypotheses, and it was found that children make progress during the course if it is conducted in a manner adapted to their needs, with appropriate motivation and teaching aids. It was also found that, for effective swimming instruction, teaching methods must be adapted to the children’s prior knowledge, age, and physical abilities.
Keywords:swimming, swimming lessons, student motivation, the role of play, progress
