Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo predstavili plesne dejavnosti v povezavi z multikulturnimi vsebinami.

Title:Dance Activities as Part of Multicultural Education in Preschool
Abstract:This bachelor's thesis presents dance activities in connection with multicultural content. The study explores the rationale for integrating these two areas and examines the significance of dance education as a starting point for fostering awareness of cultural diversity during the preschool years. The theoretical part defines multicultural and intercultural education, highlights their importance for the development of children's identities, and discusses the representation of multicultural content within the Kindergarten Curriculum. Furthermore, the thesis defines dance, explores its relationship with culture, and presents dance education as a field with strong integrative potential. The role of dance in the new Kindergarten Curriculum is also examined, with particular emphasis on its impact on children's holistic development and its effectiveness as a medium for learning and acquiring knowledge. The theoretical section concludes with a review of contemporary research demonstrating the suitability of integrating dance with multicultural content. Based on the theoretical foundations, the empirical part of the thesis developed and implemented eight dance education activities through which children aged three to five years became acquainted with different countries and their distinctive characteristics. The evaluation results indicate that integrating multicultural content into dance education in preschool settings is both pedagogically appropriate and effective. This approach contributes to children's awareness, understanding, and acceptance of cultural diversity, while fostering positive interpersonal relationships and values. Furthermore, it enables preschool teachers to achieve educational objectives in both dance education and multicultural education.
